Many thanks

Kate and I wanted to say THANK YOU (that's an understatement) to all of you who have stuck by us during her illness. You've been patiently waiting for DOMINATE and sending e-mails and Tweets to check on the estimated release date. As of now, there is not one. The book is a co-creation and until Kate is well, I will not be writing a word of our collaborative idea without her.

We talk often of the projects we will produce for Violet & Ruby and wish we could start publishing them now. But Kate's health comes first and once she is well, we'll have SO much awesome material for you!

Again, thank you for waiting. Thank you for caring. Thank you for sticking with us.

I was so excited to see a new post on Violet and Ruby!! and even though it isn't to say that things are up and running again, it's so good to hear from you! Still thinking of Kate and sooo looking forward to what you two cook up in the future. ^.^

Violet is sweet and demure-- but don't let the damsel-in-distress look fool you. You have to work hard for this girl's trust & friendship. She has a mean right hook that she won't hesitate to use to protect herself-- and her closest friends. Ultra-feminine to the bone, she's a lip gloss addict--daytime: soft peach, pastel pink, and glassy, glossy clear. Nighttime shades for the clubs: purple so dark it looks black, bright neon fuschia, diamond-sparkle silver. Every week, you'll find a brand new bouquet of fresh-cut, pale pink roses in her neatfreak-clean apartment. Never will you see even one petal wilt. But in her closet, you'll find a mound of clothes, makeup spread across every surface, and high-heel boots and shoes tossed to the floor. But she knows where to find every single item there. Her makeup essentials are at least five shades of gloss to carry at all times and a tube of striking black mascara. She watches tortured romantic movies that make you cry and reads chick-lit books with hot pink covers-- perfect while drinking tea, Ruby along side her on the couch. If she starred in a movie, she'd be the fairy-tale princess-- only she'd never wait for the prince to save her. In a book, she'd be the popular girl you'd want to hate but can't because she's the nicest person you know. She's the beaming lantern light to Ruby's dark-ocean dreams.

Ruby is a girl who seems tough on the outside, but is secretly all about romance and being a girly-girl. She's typically the leader of her clique of friends and she's not afraid to let you know when you cross her. But more often than not, she's the best friend you'll ever have because she's a good listener and knows what you need when you need it. She always has the perfect earrings to go with your killer outfit, or the exact shade of red lipstick to go with your little black dress. Her books are arranged alphabetically and cover every inch of wall space in her apartment. Her clothes are arranged by color-- though seventy-five percent of the colors are black, feather-white, charcoal gray, and every shade of red imaginable. Her makeup essentials are black kohl eyeliner, bright red lipstick, and black liquid liner for the perfect cat-eye. She'll choose a scary movie over a romantic comedy any day of the week and loves to read paranormal YA novels-- especially with a tortured romance and especially when it rains outside and she and Violet are curled up next to each other sharing a blanket on the couch. If she starred in a movie, she'd be the femme fatale who kills the men she kisses with a single, searing look. And in a book, she'd be the mean girl who, you later learn, has a heart of gold. She's the designer black and white polka dot umbrella to Violet's rainy day.
